"Dark to Dawn" is a terrific collection of original songs by the Jason Sapen Band. The music by the band sounds great, beginning to end, and the songs are wonderfully written and performed superbly, but the real highlight here is Jason's expressive, emotional voice that is right on the money every time with these very personal songs he's written. "On Main Street" gives me chills every time I hear it, and I've heard it a lot. "Seeing Me" and "Misery" also stand out as personal faves, but it's all so good.

Kudos to Jason, the band, and Grand Master Studios' producer Chris Szajko for an excellent production. The sound of the CD blew me away. Someone's got great ears and deft touch on the controls. It sounds like a Nashville, L.A., or New York CD, and the packaging is icing on the delicious cake. Quite a treat. Fantastic stuff...I Love it all! I'm a big fan now.

Gordy Young - 16 Morning News, WNDU-TV South Bend, IN

"Brilliant writing and recording! I love a CD that sounds good no matter where it is played...like in my car!"

Dave Byrum

"Regrettfully, I missed the CD release par-tay...but thanks to a very good friend your new CD is already on its fourth spin as I am typing this...it freakin' RAWKS Kiddo! I will most definitely be recommending it to all my friends. Wishing you MUCHO success."

Patti Widell

Note: Patti later purchased 16 copies of "Dark to Dawn" to give as Christmas presents to those friends

"This is one of the best local projects I have heard! The musicianship and recording quality are both top-notch. I buy a lot of CDs put out by local artists to help them out and support the local guy--most I give one listen to and then file. This is one that I will continue to listen to and enjoy. Jason Sapen has a great voice and is a talented, up-and-coming song writer."

Rex Ellsworth - musician, artist, teacher

"I really enjoy all the songs. I must be getting old because I also like that there is no foul language."

Tom Bonner, Niles MI

"I have listened to my copy of "Dark to Dawn" so many times that my two-year old and my five-year old know the words to the songs! "Misery" and "Can You Feel Anything?" are my two favorites, although it is hard for me to pick because they are all so good. It is one of the few CDs I listen to without skipping over any songs."

Stacey Tighe - JSB fan and mother of very smart kids

"Even the elderly like the Jason Sapen CD. We are really enjoying the fine music."

Dick and Shirley Russell - Shawn's Grandparents

"I like the bluesy rock feel of "Dark to Dawn" and the writing is strong. It is a disc I would put on when romancing a lady friend."

Monty Stone - DJ at 91.1 FM The Globe, Thursdays 9 PM - Midnite

"It's a great CD. And my son Dustan loves it. It's a good thing that CDs don't wear out because he has probably played "Dark to Dawn" about 300 times."

Jim Craig - co-owner of The Whitehouse in Niles, MI

"There are very few CDs I have that I can play from start to finish without skipping over songs - like The Beatles, John Mayer, and The Dave Matthews Band. "Dark To Dawn" falls into this group of talent that I can listen to over and over again. It's awesome to see a truly great group of guys get together and do something awesome like "Dark To Dawn." Jason is a great writer and has a great band in Scott, Shawn, and Ed. How could this CD not sound great? Everybody should buy a copy and hold onto it because once these guys make it it will be worth millions on E-Bay."

Eric Burns - JSB fan and friend

"I saw you on WNIT on February 1. What a kick in the face! "S.O.S. (Shine On Sister)"  is some of the best bluesy music I've heard in years. You guys will go far. Great musicians. Thanks."

Greg Murphy - Rochester, Indiana

"Jason Sapen's music is a refreshing sound that music of today has lost. Fantastic."

Chris Byland - DJ for London Calling radio show, Big L Radio www.bigl.co.uk
